Will Having Plastic Surgery Improve my Sex Life?

We believe in making choices that work for our clients. Ideally, clients choose cosmetic enhancement for themselves to boost confidence or to achieve a certain appearance. In our experience, many of our clients report improvements in the way they feel about themselves after the procedure.

Embracing femininity

We see clients change how they express themselves, including their choices in hair, makeup, and clothing. Feeling empowered by their new look, being fun and flirty seems less daunting when it comes carrying themselves. Even platonic relationships with members of the opposite sex become more open and engaging.

Increase confidence, improve sex

Regardless of the procedure chosen, typically women who undergo plastic surgery have improved self-esteem, which influences the experience of sex. Furthermore, a study shows that many procedures made it easier for women to achieve orgasm. Those who participated in the study are happy with the also improved sex life of their partner as sex is more frequent. This change in confidence in self-image will help in feelings of arousal and sexual desire.

Women who choose to enhance their breasts, tummy, and legs benefit the most from greater intimacy. Breast augmentation often leads to an immense increase in sexual pleasure. Body contouring, such as liposuction and abdominoplasty are also strongly linked in this way. For facial procedures, self-esteem is improved, but to a lesser degree in the bedroom. Although we encourage that our clients choose cosmetic surgery for themselves, the notable improvement to sex is an added bonus.

Alternate theory

A different reasoning behind better sex after plastic surgery is women will approach their sexual ideal of how they appear naked. Reaching this ideal is linked to gratification. Feeling self-conscious about the body interferes with the fantasy behind the act. These negative thoughts distract from reaching heightened levels of desire and arousal. Cosmetic enhancements bring women closer to how they would like to look and ultimately how they would like to feel during sex.

Feeling eager during recovery

Each procedure will have its own recommended healing period. Dr. McLean will go through in detail the steps to take care of yourself during that time. We’re always happy to answer any questions you might have. It is important to avoid strenuous activity at first, among a few other precautions. The wait is worthwhile and recommended as your health and wellbeing are a priority to us.
