Diet Tips for After Your Cosmetic Surgery?

Cosmetic surgery can be a good time to make changes to your eating habits. Even if you’re not enhancing a body feature that’s related to weight, eating better and feeling better will certainly give confidence a boost. Eat right while you’re recovering from cosmetic surgery so that when you’ve completed healing, you’ll have a slimmer body as a bonus.

Eating the right foods for recovery

After surgery, your body will benefit greatly from additional nutrients:

  • Eat 1.2 grams of protein a day. Lean meats are high in protein and low in fat. These include wild fish, organic meat, eggs, and protein-rich vegetables.
  • Antioxidants will help with healing and combat free radicals. Vitamins C and A are beneficial. Selenium and CoQ10 fall in this category too. Five servings of fruits and vegetables will help you meet the requirements.
  • Superfoods are great for healing. These include olive oil, avocado, cherries, and blueberries, and dark chocolate.

Cutting out refined sugar

Juices that are fortified with vitamins should be replaced with fresh fruits. Consuming sugar through drinks quickly adds up the calories. Pop and other soft drinks should be avoided entirely. Replace with water or tea. When consuming tea and coffee, either use artificial sweeteners or avoid it altogether. In addition to drinks, candies and baked goods are high in sugar and fat, while low on nutrients. Healthy snacks like carrot sticks are a healthy substitute.

Pack some snacks

Eating takeout is quick and convenient. The trouble comes when portion control is out of your hands and healthy options are not always available. While staying hungry or even skipping a meal is not recommended, you should try to eat regularly. In place of buying food from a restaurant, consider packing your food from home. If you have limited time to cook at home, it may be a good idea to purchase pre-made snacks. Low fat granola bars or pre-made salads can be a better option than ordering a burger with fries. Fruit is easy to pack and eat, so you can always throw an apple or orange into your bag.

Stay hydrated

Sometimes it’s easy to confuse thirst with hunger. Make sure you drink enough water. Water also has other benefits too, so don’t be afraid to make sure you have everything you need (water filter, water bottle, tea, etc.).
