Silk Peel Dermal Infusion

Silk Peel Dermal Infusion

What it is

The Silk Peel Dermal Infusion provides instantaneous results by making skin more fresh, radiant, and rejuvenated. Completed within 30 minutes and with no down time required, it works by exfoliating the top layers of the skin that contain dead and old skin cells, which will help reveal the healthier, younger skin underneath. This will help promote healthy cell turnover and cell regeneration by increasing the amount of blood flow to the upper layers of the skin. The removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin will allow for better absorption of skincare products and topical treatments, which is delivered and infused into the skin by the Silk Peel device and will provide the skin with nourishment and hydration. Depending on the needs of every patient, different topical treatments and vitamins can be used for a customized treatment option to target hyperpigmentation, acne, dehydration, and photodamage.

Treatment Areas

The SilkPeel Dermal Infusion is one of the most effective treatments for acne, as it exfoliates and cleans out clogged pores that lead to acne breakouts. The exfoliation provided by the Silk Peel treatment will allow for enhanced absorption of any topical skin care applied to the skin, which include acne treatment solutions.

The Silk Peel Dermal Infusion can be used to address a wide range of skin conditions that include the treatment of:

  • Acne-prone and oily skin
  • Dry skin
  • Reducing the appearance of sun spots and age spots
  • Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • While the majority of patients who receive the Silk Peel treatment treat their facial complexion, the neck, chest, and back are other popular treatment areas.

How to Prepare

Please stop taking all topical acne medications you may be using one week prior to your Silk Peel appointment.

How It Works

Silk Peel Dermal Infusion treatments are gentle, painless, and can be performed on any skin type. The Silk Peel utilizes a handheld device that works to exfoliate the skin using a diamond tip on a closed loop vacuum system. This unique device will simultaneously exfoliate the upper layers of the skin while delivering and infusing the skin with a topical treatment solution customized to your skin care needs.

With repeated Silk Peel facials, you will notice complete skin rejuvenation for a healthy, glowing complexion. It is a great way to eliminate acne, acne scarring, skin discoloration, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also very effective to reverse the signs of sun damage, such as age spots and hyperpigmentation.

Results

Immediately following your Silk Peel treatment, your skin will be noticeably smoother and softer to the touch. As the days and weeks progress, the results will become more apparent and you will observe larger improvements in hyperpigmentation, skin texture, and fine lines. In order to achieve long-term, dramatic results, patients will need to be committed to the series of treatment required to achieve this.

The Silk Peel Dermal Infusion treatment has incredible anti-aging benefits due to the powerful anti-aging ingredients in the topical treatments infused into the skin. These facials only take 30 minutes to complete and can be repeated at 3 to 4 week intervals to boost regular skincare regimens for a healthy, radiant complexion. Between treatments, the skin will go through a process of regrowth and renewal, which will allow patients to see ongoing results. Most patients achieve optimal results after receiving 4 to 6 Silk Peel treatments.

Although Silk Peels are a great standalone treatment, a mild version of the treatment can be paired with IPL treatments to remove leftover pigmentation. Additionally, Silk Peels can be combined with laser treatments for maximum effectiveness. During your consultation with Dr. McLean, please ask about what combination of treatments would work best for your particular skin type, concerns, and desired results.

Aftercare and Recovery

The large majority of McLean Clinic patients are able to return to their normal activities and return to work immediately following the treatment. Because there is no associated downtime with this type of facial, no intensive post-procedure care is required with the exception of sunscreen application on the treated areas. We highly recommend the use of sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher containing zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide to protect their skin from the sun. This will protect the fragile, new skin from further pigmentation. Furthermore, please avoid using exfoliants on the treated skin for at least one week after receiving the Silk Peel facial.

Potential Complications

There are some associated risks with any cosmetic treatment, but the Silk Peel Dermal Infusion facial is clinically proven to be extremely safe and gentle for use on almost any skin type. Potential side effects include mild bruising, sensitivity, and peeling. This should resolve on its own within a few days.

Myths and Facts

Silk Peel Dermal Infusion facials are frequently compared to microdermabrasion treatments, and although both are similar, the Silk Peel Dermal Infusion differs in a few ways. Similar to microdermabrasion, the Silk Peel is a mechanical exfoliation treatment that does not utilize chemicals in its process. Both work to remove the top layer of old, dead skin cells to reveal younger looking skin underneath. The main differentiating factor is that the Silk Peel uses a revolutionary technology that simultaneously exfoliates the skin and infuses it with a variety of topical solutions that address your particular skincare concerns. This allows the treatment to be fully customizable to each and every patient.
